CARE in Myanmar

CARE began working in Myanmar in 1995. Our projects focus mainly on health, girls’ education, agriculture, and environmental conservation.

In Myanmar we:
  • improve agriculture, for example by teaching farmers new techniques
  • provide access to clean water and sanitation
  • fight HIV and AIDS

CARE in action:

Fighting HIV and AIDS
We are providing basic health care with a particular focus on HIV and AIDS in townships across the country.

We aim to reduce intravenous drug use and its harmful consequences, especially HIV and AIDS infection, among drug users and their families and communities. CARE provides information of the dangers of injecting drugs and provides services for drug users.

Earning a decent living
CARE is working to improve the living standards of rural communities in dry and mountainous areas, for example by teaching farmers to improve crop yields without damaging forests and other natural resources.
