Online Security

Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both you the donor, and us the charity, when making an online donation. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax.

Making a credit or debit card donation via Secure Trading.

As a leading payment service provider Secure Trading enables us to accept credit cards and other forms of payment online in a simple and secure manner.  Secure Trading are fully acredited as a Level 1 compliant provider - the highest level of complaince - under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

The Secure Trading payment gateway that CARE International UK uses has a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data, protecting both CARE and our donors.

All communication between the donor and Secure Trading is encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the customer's browser using SSL security.

Secure Trading's public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority ensuring that customers and merchants alike can have confidence that nobody can impersonate Secure Trading to obtain confidential information.

In addition card issuers protect cardholders from fraudulent use of their card in a card not present environment, such as over the Internet or telephone. As the customer did not sign for the goods they have the absolute right to demand a chargeback if the card was used fraudulently.

If you have any further concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
