CARE campaigners at 'The Wave' climate change demonstration in London
CARE joined the UK’s largest ever climate change demonstration, The Wave, in London on 5 December.
Thanks to everyone who came out in the cold to demand that world leaders take action on climate change.
In all more than 50,000 people took to the streets of London.
In doing so, they sent the strongest possible message to political leaders ahead of the historic climate change talks that began in Copenhagen on 7 December.
Gordon Brown heard us and invited 24 Wave participants to 10 Downing Street after the event to hear their views.
CARE campaigner Ines Wagner said "It was a great feeling to take part in a huge movement of people who all want the same thing, a halt to climate change."
People from all over the world dressed in blue and formed a ring around Parliament.
We called upon the UK government to settle for nothing less than a climate deal in Copenhagen that avoids dangerous climate change, and protects the world’s poorest people who are already feeling its effects.
