Cadbury awarded for Responsible Supply Chain at Business in the Community’s (BiTC) 2010 'Awards for Excellence'.

Cadbury were highly commended in the category for Responsible Supply Chain Award for their work as part of the Cadbury Cocoa Partnership (CCP), within which CARE is a leading implementing partner.

The CCP was established in 2008 and recognition was given to the process undertaken by Cadbury to design, develop and implement this ambitious programme of work.

Not only has the CCP begun to improve the livelihoods of farmers through projects being managed by CARE Ghana, VSO and World Vision but the company has also been able to demonstrate how the CCP is helping Cadbury secure a more sustainable supply of cocoa and has helped enable Cadbury’s Dairy Milk to become Fairtrade in five key markets in 2009/10.

BiTC works with FTSE companies to help improve company policies and practice in the four areas of marketplace, workplace, community and environmental responsibility.

Each year they present awards across these four categories.
