Ahead of the Bonn conference on the future of Afghanistan next Monday, CARE International UK was part of a delegation who met with Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt to hand in the tremendous 20,000 signatures collected so far by all the organisations in support of Afghan women's voices being heard at the talks.
CARE joined Gender Action for Peace and Security, Action Aid, Amnesty International UK, Oxfam GB and Women for Women International in collecting and presenting the names.
Burt and Lynne Featherstone, the Governments Champion on violence against women, who will be attending the talks, confirmed that the issue of womens rights will be on their agenda.
On Monday campaigners from across the world will gather in Germany to present the full contingent of signatures, along with messages of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan.
CARE International is supporting a number of women from Afghanistan to visit Bonn, ensuring that they are able to meet with politicians at the conference.
