TV Presenters Kate Garraway and Kate Walsh support lendwithcare.org~ Kate Garraway announced as the official ambassador of lendwithcare.org ~
CARE International UK has announced top daytime TV presenter Kate Garraway as an official ambassador of new poverty fighting micro-lending website lendwithcare.org.
lendwithcare.org is the first UK site of its kind to harness the expertise of one of the world’s largest international development organisations. The website has transformed the way people can give to others in developing countries. People can lend from as little as £15 to entrepreneurs in the world’s poorest countries, to help get their business plans off the ground. The micro-lender’s contribution is then repaid at the end of the loan to withdraw, to re-invest in another budding entrepreneur, or donate to CARE’s work.
Speaking about her new ambassador role, Kate Garraway said: “I was really drawn to this campaign because, having recently set up the discount website goodypass.com, I have become an entrepreneur myself and so I can appreciate how hard and frustrating it must be for those who are living in poverty and trying to set up a business, with no access to any financial services or other support.”
“The lendwithcare.org website gives people access to finance, as people like us invest in their business by sending them as little as £15. I want to encourage as many people as possible in the UK to lend their money to some of these people, to give them the opportunity of providing a better future for themselves and their families.”
Also supporting the campaign is TV presenter Kate Walsh: “I got involved with CARE International UK’s new website as being from a business background myself, I know how important it is to get access to finances and support to get your business started. The lendwithcare.org website is very innovative in helping those in developing countries gain access to some of these resources to help them get started, and so I felt very passionate about giving these people the opportunity to make a better life for themselves.”
The loans will allow small businesses to thrive and enable entrepreneurs to earn income, send their children to school, feed their families and, of course, gain economic independence as their business grows. The entrepreneur receives 100% of the loan that they requested; no administrative charges are deducted from the entrepreneur’s loan.
The lendwithcare.org website has a whole portfolio of entrepreneurs seeking funding for you to choose from, helping you to give someone living in poverty the chance to make a new life for themselves and their family.
