Meet us at the Co-operative’s Women’s Day on Saturday 3 March

The Co-operative is celebrating the UN International Year of Co-operatives by hosting a women's day in partnership with CARE International.

The day will showcase a number of organisations and groups that particularly assist women both in the UK and internationally. There will be a range of speakers, as well a number of stalls where you can find out more about how to get involved.

We'll be there to show you how you can join our campaign to mark International Women's day, Walk In Her Shoes supported by the South East Co-operative membership. We're asking participants to support women and girls in the developing world who are often burdened with the task of walking for hours to collect items like food and water simply to survive. By joining the campaign, supporters will commit to feeling just part of their daily struggle by picking any week in March to walk 10,000 steps each day. Visit www.careinternational.org.uk/walkinhershoes for more information.

The Co-operative Women's Day 2012 - We Build a Better World, will take place at the Commonwealth Club in London on Saturday 3 March, between 11 am and 3.30 pm. If you are passionate about women's issues, come down, meet us and find out about a range of ways that you can get involved!

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided, but you need to register your attendance by following this link or emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
