American chart smasher, Mary Chapin Carpenter, let us collect donations from the audience at all of her UK and Ireland sell-out dates on her 22-gig 'Party Doll on Wheels' tour.

Mary Chapin, a long-term supporter of CARE International, said: ‘CARE International is an organisation I really admire and I like to do what I can to help out.’

The tour takes Mary Chapin to 15 cities, and over 100 CARE volunteers are at each concert to collect donations from the audience.

After her encore on 3 November at west London’s Lyric Theatre Mary Chapin invited CARE International UK’s American Community Fundraiser, Lori Elmore, and Events Manager Dan Mclean backstage for autographs and photos.

Mary Chapin is delighted the tour continues to be a success for CARE International. She wished the organisation well in its emergency appeal for the victims of the Orissa cyclone in India, which was launched on 2 November.
