Alastair Stewart OBE is one of the UK’s most experienced and respected broadcasters in the UK, having anchored national news bulletins since 1983.
He now presents ITV News at 1.30pm, and co-presents ITV News at 6.30pm. He has been named Royal Television Society Presenter of the Year and, in 2006, was awarded the OBE for his work in broadcasting and for charity.
On 15 April 2010, Stewart moderated the first ever United Kingdom leaders debates between the Prime Ministerial candidates in the 2010 United Kingdom general election.
Alastair became a CARE International Ambassador in February 2009. He visited CARE’s work on the Kenya and Somalia border in 2006 and undertook a visit to Niger in July 2010 to highlight the food crisis.
