We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Climate Change and Resilience Team, which supports quality programming and leadership on resilience and climate change in CARE and within the sector.
About the role
We are looking for a highly experienced technical expert to advise on resilience and climate change adaptation across CIUK’s humanitarian and development programmes, and to support the design and delivery of CARE programming on resilience and climate change. The post holder will generate learning from CARE’s experience and use this to influence policy, conduct further research and feed into funding proposals. The post holder will be responsible for developing strong relations with institutional donors, peer agencies, research institutes and our country offices.
You will play a key role in raising the profile of CARE International’s resilience and adaptation work in the UK and amongst our partners internationally. In addition you will be the technical lead for a DFID-funded Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Extremes and Disasters (BRACED) project led by CIUK. You will work closely with our fundraising teams to secure funds for our climate change and resilience work.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of implementing resilience and community-based adaptation programmes at field level, together with previous experience in high level representation. You will be a proactive team player with strong communication skills and the ability to turn conceptual ideas into programmes. You will have experience in the development and /or humanitarian sectors, both in programming and policy engagement within the sector. Full written and verbal fluency in French and English is required for this post.
