Sabina: Mother. Grandmother. Refugee.
Sabina has spent her whole life caring for her loved ones.
But in one terrible night she lost everything. Her village was attacked by gunfire and her home was set on fire. She was forced to flee in darkness with her young grandchildren, leaving behind her home and the life she’d built and cherished.
We came from Myanmar with great hardship. My grandchildren carried me. We had to drink muddy water.
I got fever. My whole body was in pain. I thought I was going to die.
It took five long days to reach the refugee camp in Bangladesh. Sabina had so little before, but now she has nothing. The only things keeping her going are the grandchildren she must care for.
But who will care for Sabina?
We care. Please show you do too.
Young or old, CARE is there to help vulnerable people living in poverty – people who have suffered so much and just need a little human kindness.
