Text-to-donate is a quick and easy way to donate to CARE International via your mobile phone.

This is a monthly subscription service and by texting, you consent to future telephone and SMS marketing contact from CARE. By texting HOPE NO you’ll still subscribe to give £5 per month, but will not receive any future calls or unrelated SMS. Your phone bill or pay-as-you-go credit will immediately be charged £5 plus one standard network rate message for the first month. You will be charged £5 a month thereafter and will receive a reminder text 24hrs before your gift is due. If you’d rather not give for a month just reply SKIP when you receive the reminder text. You can end your gift at any time by simply replying STOP to the same number, or just call us on 0207 091 6100.

LIFE to 70007
This is a monthly subscription service and by texting, you consent to future telephone and SMS marketing contact from CARE. Your phone bill or pay-as-you-go credit will immediately be charged £3 plus one standard network rate message for the first month. You will be charged £3 a month thereafter and will receive a reminder text 24hrs before your gift is due. If you’d rather not give for a month just reply SKIP when you receive the reminder text. You can end your gift at any time by simply replying STOP to the same number, or just call us on 0207 091 6100.
If you’re already giving to us monthly via your mobile phone, with gift of £3, £4 or £5 – thank you. The same principles apply (see the paragraph above) if you want to SKIP a month or STOP your monthly £3, £4 or £5 donation.
Viewing online content may incur data charges with some mobile contracts. Texting SKIP or STOP will be charged at your network’s standard rate.
General Terms and Conditions
Your single or regular monthly donation will be added to your next phone bill or taken from your pay-as-you-go credit, plus your standard network rate. 100% of all donations go to CARE International. Please note that you cannot donate using this service from a Channel Islands or Isle of Man mobile or from outside of the UK.
Texted by mistake?
Charities sometime use the same keywords such as ‘WATER’ at different times so it’s important to check the five digit shortcode number that you’re texting to and the keyword before you hit the send button on your phone.
If your intention was to donate to CARE International, but the shortcode or keyword you texted is invalid you may still be charged your standard network rate. CARE will not receive 100% of the donation unless you use the correct shortcode and keyword combination.
If you’ve texted to donate to CARE by mistake you may still be charged if the shortcode and keyword combination is active. You will know if it’s active if you receive a text back from CARE to confirm the donation. In this instance, you can claim a refund by contacting your mobile network provider directly. If your network will not refund the donation please do contact us. However, we will not be able to make the refund until the text donation has cleared in our account, which could take over 90 days.
Permission to use the phone
If you are not the bill payer you must obtain permission from the actual bill payer before texting to donate. If you are under 16 years old, you must also have your parent or guardian’s permission to donate via text to CARE.
Communications from CARE
CARE International may occasionally contact you via SMS with updates or emergency appeals. To opt-out completely of any future SMS communications just text END to 70099. You will still be charged your standard network rate for one mesage.
You can also opt-out of receiving future communications from CARE by doing one of the following:
- Contacting our Supporter Care Team on email@example.com or calling 0207 091 6100
- Visiting the Fundraising Preference Service website
Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will only be used to keep you informed about our fundraising, activities, events and services. We will not share your information with any third party organisations except where:
- such transfer is a necessary part of our activities, or
- we are required to do so by operation of law.
