On this day in 1911, International Women’s Day was founded to progress the rights of women across the world.

Today, we mark moments in women’s history. The progress that women have fought for – step by step, decade by decade. Progress created by people who believed in safety, equality and opportunity.

And the women around the world who are leading countries, communities and organisations.

But right now, that progress is under threat.

From voting rights and access to education, to the effects of conflict and extreme weather – we see the threat of rollback. Proof that progress only happens when we keep moving. When we push for it.

CARE International UK and our partners work every day with women and communities around the world. We respond to crisis in the world’s most challenging situations, building a fairer and safer future for us all.

But we can’t do it alone. Join us to make this International Women’s Day not just a day in in history, but a movement for lasting change.

Together, let’s keep pushing for progress!
