While CARE does not have operations in Iran, our teams in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Türkiye are preparing to support increasing numbers of people forced to flee their homes. This includes coordinated efforts with local partners to get supplies in place and ensure that cash, food, water and shelter can be delivered rapidly.
CARE and our partners in Gaza are continuing to deliver clean water and provide critical healthcare to women and children, risking their lives in the process.
How CARE is responding
Right now, CARE in Lebanon is preparing distribution of meals, soap, water, mattresses and other essentials for families forced to sleep on the streets.
In Gaza, CARE has reached more than 995,000 people since the conflict broke out in October 2023. We’ve supported women to give birth and care for their children, and provided sanitary products, alongside emergency food and water supplies.
We know how to operate in the region, and we’ve been saving lives under these conditions for over two years. Public donations are the backbone of our response, allowing us to move quickly even when we only have very short windows of opportunity to get aid in.
