As Glastonbury Festival 2025 gets underway, we are spotlighting one of our amazing supporters Dan Tastic Glastonbury (yes that really is his name!).
Since starting out in 2011, Dan has raised over £50,000 for CARE International UK by painting personalised bins at Glastonbury festival.
Dan is in charge of a group of 80 volunteers who each paint a staggering 30-50 bins a day in the run up to the festival. Dan and his awesome volunteers personalise 100 of these bins every year, in return for a donation to CARE. Those who choose to sponsor a bin can send in a request for what they would like painted on the bin.

From fire-breathing badgers to family tributes
Each year, designs range from messages to loved ones, names of people they’ve married or lost, inside jokes with friends, images of pets and kids or sometimes just a design that is personal to them. Dan says favourite design requests include Michael Eavis on a fire-breathing badger & a narwhal rave, with some families having had a bin every year since he started back in 2011.
As well as being a creative addition to the festival, these are also fully functional bins serving the 200,000+ people who attend Glastonbury. Roughly 15,000 bins in total are painted or repainted every year.
The man behind the bins
Dan is not only a Glastonbury bin painter but also a children’s entertainer and magician. He runs an educational business which hosts workshops in schools focused on bringing history to life. Find out more on Dan’s website.
Dan uses his X account to post photos and locations of the bins so sponsors can find theirs throughout the week.
Give Dan a follow on X or Instagram to see some of his designs – and get updates on how you can sponsor a bin next year!
Thank you, Dan!
Dan’s vibrant bins have become a significant part of the festival’s visual branding as well as a huge part of CARE International UK’s brand and history. We are massively grateful for all of his support – THANK YOU DAN!!!
