About you
We are looking for an experienced humanitarian shelter professional with strong technical expertise and practical field experience in shelter and settlements programming. You are confident providing technical advice, developing guidance and standards, and supporting CARE’s country office teams to design and deliver high-quality, context-appropriate shelter responses. You will combine sound technical knowledge with strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working collaboratively and flexibly in a small but diverse global team. A relevant qualification (such as engineering, architecture, construction or a related field) and substantial experience in humanitarian contexts are required.
About the role
The Senior Shelter Technical Advisor provides technical leadership to support high-quality shelter and settlements responses across CARE’s global programmes, developing standards and guidance, and advising CARE country office teams, contributing to strategy and proposals, and representing the organisation in coordination and technical forums. Working as part of a global team, the role requires sound technical knowledge, substantial field experience, and the ability to influence, communicate clearly and build effective relationships across diverse humanitarian contexts.
