CARE’s work in Thailand
CARE’s work in Thailand began in 1979, to respond to the influx of Cambodian refugees along Thailand’s borders. The Raks Thai Foundation (the local name of CARE in Thailand) became a full member of CARE International in 2003 – the first developing country to do so.
Today, we support to families affected by HIV, fight discrimination and promote reproductive health rights. We help poor rural communities find alternative ways to earn a living and promote education reform. We help communities prepare for and respond to emergencies and support rehabilitation in the wake of disasters.
