Fresh meat was in short supply during the Second World War, so corned beef provided a good alternative. Often, it was served in a sandwich, or stewed with potatoes to create a wartime favourite, named “hash and hotch-potch”.
Whilst WWII was a long time ago, the need for CARE Packages around the world is just as great today as it was back in the 1940s. Millions of women need urgent access to basic supplies like food, drinking water and hygiene items.
