Join us for an unforgettable 350km bike ride through five of Tanzania’s breathtaking national parks in June 2027!

By taking part in Lendwithcare’s Tanzania Bike Ride, you won’t just get to experience cycling with a view of Kilimanjaro in front of you. We’re also arranging a unique project visit where you’ll get to understand the positive impact of economic empowerment through CARE Tanzania. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the people Lendwithcare plans to start supporting in the very near future.

The route

The Tanzania Bike Ride will kick off at the base of Kilimanjaro in Moshi where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your fellow cyclists and take in the breathtaking view.

Lendwithcare wouldn’t exist without CARE VSLAs coming first. The approach helps members to regularly save into a shared fund and take small loans. Many VSLA members are small business owners, and the exact people Lendwithcare aim to support when we launch in Tanzania.

Before we leave Moshi, we’ll spend a day meeting these incredible women. And our night will be spent in the breathtaking foothills of Kilimanjaro above Moshi!

Our cycle challenge starts with a comfortable 20km downhill stretch on our first day in the saddle as we leave the views of Kilimanjaro behind us and make our way through rolling hills towards the Usa River. We’ll cover nearly 80km in total on the first day, and this will be the first opportunity to put our training to the test. We’ll also be rewarded with views of Mt. Meru when we arrive.

The coming days provide more time in the saddle as we take in the incredible scenery and lots of varied wildlife along the way. On our third day cycling, we’ll be taking on a little over 100km from Arusha to the great Tarangire National Park. This is our longest day, but we expect to move fast on the tarred roads, which allows us to take in the vast African plains and a relaxing lunch in Makuyuni.

A second to last day in Lake Manyara starts with an optional pre-dawn walking safari, before we hit the roads and cover a 70km distance. Our final day passes through the incredible Ngorongoro National Park as we make our way to Arusha to celebrate. This bustling East African city gives us the perfect place to celebrate with dinner and drinks!
