An executor is someone who obtains the grant of probate for a person’s estate after they have died, and then administers the estate in accordance with the Will of the person who has died and any codicils. Being an executor for someone who has left a gift in their Will can be complicated. To help, here are some frequently asked questions about estate administration.

Please send any accompanying paperwork with your payment.

If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer or card, please contact us so that we can tell you the best way to do this.

What information will CARE International UK need?

This depends on the type of gift that has been left to us, so please contact the Supporter Care Team. If you're able to supply a copy of the Will, that will help us to be as specific and accurate as possible.

What about tax?

As a registered charity, we're exempt from Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and some aspects of Income Tax. There may be opportunities to mitigate these taxes during an administration, or ensure the exemptions are applied correctly, which means we receive the maximum benefit of the legacy by increasing its value. We would be happy to discuss with you what actions can be taken, with regard to tax.

Please contact the Supporter Care Team so that we can help you with this.
