At CARE International UK, we're committed to creating lasting change in the fight against poverty and inequality around the world. Behind that impact is a community of talented, passionate people who bring expertise, collaboration and purpose to everything they do.
We're committed to fostering a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to contribute their best. As part of our People & Organisational Development team, you'll have the opportunity to shape how people experience working at CARE, influence organisation-wide initiatives, and help build an environment where individuals and teams can flourish.
This is a chance to use your expertise in a role that combines strategic influence with meaningful, people-centred work, all within an organisation driven by a clear social purpose.
About the role
Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you'll take the lead on talent management and learning and development initiatives that help colleagues build rewarding careers and reach their full potential. From leadership development and succession planning to career pathways and organisational capability, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring CARE has the talent, skills and leadership needed to achieve its ambitions now and in the future.
You'll develop and deliver initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, support professional growth and contribute to a positive organisational culture. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, you'll help ensure colleagues have the tools, skills and experiences needed to reach their full potential and make their greatest contribution to CARE's mission.
You'll be instrumental in helping the organisation navigate change, strengthen communication and foster a shared sense of direction and purpose. Combining insight, creativity and practical delivery, you'll identify opportunities to improve how we support our people and continuously enhance the experience of our colleagues.
This is a varied and influential role for someone who enjoys building relationships, turning ideas into action and making a visible contribution to organisational success.
About you
You'll be an experienced people professional with a strong track record of delivering talent, learning, engagement and culture initiatives that drive organisational performance and improve employee experience. Combining both a strategic and pragmatic approach, you’ll be able to identify opportunities for improvement and find practical solutions.
Alongside your ability to build strong relationships, you’ll be able to influence and challenge constructively while maintaining credibility and trust. Experience within the charity, international development or wider values-led sector would be highly desirable, as would experience managing external consultants. Above all, you are collaborative, curious and solutions-focused, committed to continuous learning and passionate about creating an environment where people can thrive and do their best work.
